Itinerary

Day 1:

Waterfront, Richards Bay

 

Arrival at Durban. At the airport you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel, in the coastal town of Richards Bay. At leisure for the rest of the day enjoying the many

attractions along the Richards Bay waterfront.

Go on a sunset cruise.

 

Day 2:

Hilltop Camp, Hluhluwe-uMfolozi Game Reserve

 

Today we depart early to the Hluhluwe-uMfolozi Game Reserve. This is the oldest game reserve in Africa, famous for its white rhino conservation. The reserve is not only home to the largest            concentration of both black and white rhino, but all of the

“Big Five” occur here as well as many other species of general game.

Unpack and spend some time settling in, before heading out on a night game drive, returning early evening for dinner.

 

Day 3:

Hilltop Camp, Hluhluwe-uMfolozi Game Reserve

 

A full days game viewing awaits you in the reserve. We will visit the reserve’s renowned  Centenary Centre and the and the museum that depicts the history of live game capture and animal relocation. There may be the opportunity to see animals being held in the

bomas, awaiting relocation. While on Safari you will also learn about the incredible history of the area, where famous battles were fought, and King Shaka’s hunting grounds and about the conservation success stories .

Day 4:

Cape Vidal, Eastern Shores Game Reserve

 

We depart later morning, taking a leisurely drive through the park, making our way to The Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park, a World Heritage Site. We stop for lunch in the town of St Lucia and the Indian Ocean, with a chance of seeing   elephant, rhino, buffalo, zebra and other species of general game. We visit a view site over looking the lake in the west and the ocean in the east before arriving at Cape Vidal, with its beautiful beaches.

 

Day 5:

Cape Vidal, Eastern Shores Game Reserve

 

After breakfast you have the opportunity to snorkel or just relax on the beach for a couple of hours before we head back into the town of St Lucia for lunch, followed by a 2 hour sunset boat cruise on the St Lucia Estuary, offering excellent photographic

opportunities of hippo, crocs and the abundant bird life in the area.

We make our way back to Richards Bay for a late supper and retire early to bed.

 

Day 6:

End of Tour

 

Tour Ends after breakfast. Check out of your hotel and you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home.
