The Location:
Cahorra Bassa Dam, Tete Province, Mozambique.
The Dam: The Cahorra Bassa Dam is in the Zambezi River system, which also feeds Kariba Dam. The Cahorra Bassa Dam is the 4th largest dam in Africa, only lake Volta in Ghana, Kariba in Zimbabwe and Egypt’s Aswan Dam are biggest in terms of surface water. (52 000 000 000 cubic litres) The lake is +- 270km long, and on average, is 10km wide. The Cahorra Bassa Dam system is the largest in Africa.

Fish Species of the Dam:
There are more than 40 species of angling fish in the dam, of which, tiger fish, bream, chessa, corn jack and vundu are the most popular .
Accommodation:
Air conditioned stone and thatch chalets in a pleasant wooded area near the lake shore, with running water, flushing toilets and showers.
The lodge is on a rocky and forested hillside with the main bar/dining area about 40 meters above water level and around a large baobab tree.

Day 1:
· Transferred to King Shaka Int. Airport.(Dbn) · Fly to Tete Province, Mozambique, via O.R Tambo Int.(Jhb) and Maputo Int.(Moz) Airports. · Arrive at Tete Airport, transfer to lodge at Cahorra Bassa. ( 10km outside Songo) · Settle in at lodge, dinner and drinks.
Day 2, 3, 4 and 5:
· Wake up to a rising African sun and fill up on breakfast. · Down to the boats for a full day of fishing your heart out. · Lunch-packs on the boat. · Back late afternoon for dinner and drinks.
Day 6:
· Breakfast, and pack up. · Transfer to Tete Airport · Arrive at King Shaka Int. Airport via Maputo and O.R Tambo Int. Airports. · Transferred home to tell your tales of giant tigers. |

· All transport from Richards Bay to Cahorra Bassa Dam Lodging. · Air-conditioned chalets on the banks of the dam. · All meals (3 meals, including lunch packs for the boats). · Full day boat hire for 4 days, with experienced skipper, 100lt of fuel per boat per day, rods and bait.
